Prepare for Friday's quiz. You will be expected to understand Adam Smith's "invisible hand" and the principles of utilitarianism as well as how the do and do not work together.
Study for the U.S. Geography quiz. You only need to know the states locations and the abbreviations of their names for now.
Study for the vocabulary quiz using the list of words we discussed in class on Wednesday and Thursday.
Don't forget to study for the CAPSi quiz tomorrow. CAPSi stands for Context, Audience, Purpose, Speaker Slant, and Inferences. You will need to do CAPSi analysis of "The Inscriptions of Cyrus and Darius I on p. 20-22 of the Source book.

Please read: W. (The read and bluish gray book with pictures of the worldly philosophers on it) p. 26-41. If you don't know some of the vocabulary right down the words you do not know and we will discuss them as a class. Just turn in the list to me and I will read and define them. The purpose of this reading is to understand the world before capitalism so take note of how people produced and distributed goods prior to capitalism.
Please finish reading the Articles of Confederation. Does this document seem consistent with what we have learned about the philosophical foundations of our government? Why or Why not? What are the strengths of the Articles? What are their weaknesses?
Please Read the following 2 selections and note how Mesopotamian life differs from Paleolithic life and how the Mesopotamians viewed justice:

S. (Sources of Western Civilization): p. 10-12 "Code of Hammurabi"
